Etching and hanging glass
l have thought of a cool idea instead of a headboard. Hanging etched glass
over my bed via a curtain rod.Question is: is this feasible.. l am very
DIY and know l can etch what l want; it is the hanging part l am worried
about. Any help would be greatly appreciated....
Make sure you have the rod brackets screwed into studs, or use
metal wall anchors. But the rod is probably going to start bending toward
the center. You could suspend it from the ceiling using decorative chain
and large eye hooks screwed into ceiling studs.
You can hang just about anything you want on a wall. How heavy
will this glass be? You might need something stronger than a curtain rod,
or forget the rod altogether and hang the glass from strong hooks and
wire. The glass is going to need holes in it or a frame so you can attach
wire to it. As long as you attach the hooks into the wall where a stud is,
or get proper anchors for hollow walls it will be fine.
