Glass etching aquariums.
Has anyone ever used glass etching cream on their fish aquariums?
/>Obviously you would etch the outside of the glass.l do not think it
would compromise the strength of the glass because l would be using an
etching cream - l understand that I'd have to take great care not to get
the etching cream near the water, or perhaps etch the aquarium without
water or fish in it. So if anyone can give me a website explaining why or why you should not etch aquarium glass or any personal experiences with etching glass aquariums that would be great. />Thanks.
If you etch ion an empty tank & make sure not to get the
chemical in the tank it will be fine. Do not allow it to touch the
silicon or plastic either.
I have done this with success many times.
If the tank is filled, the fumes can get in the water & kill fish, don't do it with fish in the tank. The chemical etch will harm the silicon & plastic so stick with the glass. Use the provided or suggested masking tape to make sure it stays safe, & rise well afterwards. Good luck
